Introduction to Ceremonial Magick

by: Donald Michael Kraig

Ceremonial Magick is one of the most complicated systems of spiritual attainment in the world. It is a mixture of Jewish, Christian and ancient Egyptian philosophy mixed with ancient Indian and Chaldean ideas spiced with a hint of earlier Paganism . This is mixed with the ceremonial aspects of Catholicism and Masonry. It usually heavily involves the study of the Kabalah, the mysticism of theworld put into Jewish and Judeo-Christian terms.

In recent years, the letter "k" has been added to the word magic to differentiate real magick from the magic tricks of the stage conjurer with his cards, hats and apparatus. It is possible to divide magick into three categories:

White Magick has the above mentioned union as its goal. It is also known as contacting your
higher self, contacting your spirit guides, cosmic consciousness, mysticism, or gaining the Knowledge and Conversation of your Holy Guardian Angel. There are many other names for this type of magick, too.

Grey Magick is always positive and seeks to aid the magician or someone else on this physical plane. It is the proof that the magician has done White Magick and can use the mystical laws of the universe. Before doing any Grey Magick it is imperative that a divination be done first to ensure that no harm is done accidentally to anyone. Otherwise, Grey Magick might slip and become . . .

Black Magick, whose aim is to harm yourself or another either purposely or accidentally. Some magicians feel that it would not be working to hurt someone else, except that they, themselves will suffer as a consequence. "As you sow, so shall ye reap" is not merely a philosophical aphorism to a magician, it is an actual physical fact. Most magicians do not want to chance getting "zapped"
by the law of Karma for a foolish act of Black Magick.

If you wish to learn the spiritual secrets and magickal marvels of Ceremonial Magick, be sure that the people you seek out and choose to study with:

·Practice White Magick.
·Do divinations before doing Grey Magick.
·Do not practice Black Magick
